Games to Create

21 Game Grades 2-6
This game teaches the math concepts of: sets, division of three's, addition, and thinking skills. This activity can also be used to build self-esteem and make learning fun.

21 Game Grades K-3
The first skill is addition facts to 21. The second and third skills involve problem solving and probability. The students must add with accuracy, then decide if the number they have is close enough to the desired goal of 21.

Addition & Subtraction Game Grades 2-8
A group activity that provides review and drill in the format of a game for learning facts in subtraction and addition. Appeals to multilevel and multi grade situations. The Students get so caught up in the game they consider it an exciting challenge rather than a drill or review.

Addition & Subtraction Monopoly Grades All
The objective is to determine how many problems that student can answer correctly. This is a never ending game. This activity is designed to develop speed and accuracy. This game is good for a center activity or a rainy day.

and variations. The games deal with number recognition, order, comparison of value, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, multiples, factors, and even fractions and decimals if you want to carry them that far.

I am the Greatest Grades 2-6
This activity's blend of skill and chance becomes a highly motivating vehicle to enhance students' understanding of the concept of place value. Time required can be as little as five minutes thereby providing instruction during those lost minutes throughout the day.

Money Manipulative Grades 1-3
This is a manipulative game which will help students with their skills in estimating and counting coins. This same idea could be applied to other concepts in math. Creativity in estimation is also encouraged. Children love guessing games, and they will enjoy this activity.

Students will learn to use the fewest coins possible for a given total amount.

Number Tick Tack Toe: A Math Game for Primary Grades Grades 1-3
There are only about a dozen different outcomes to tick tack toe. By changing the rules and symbols slightly, you can give the game new life while giving students extended practice in basic addition and subtraction facts.

Number Munchers Grades 3-5
This lesson is designed to help children master basic math. In this particular lesson children will use "Number Munchers" to have a better understanding of multiples of 1-20.

The object of this game is to provide practice in trading coins.

Reinforcement Lesson in Place Value Grades 2-4
This is a lesson in place value that never fails to build excitement and generates groans of disapproval when it is time to quit. The level of difficulty can be varied based on the grade level and time of year.

The Game of Life Grades 7 & Up
The objective of this lesson is to not only work on basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and subtraction, but to also gain an understanding of money and how it is used in the real world.

The Plus and Minus Game Grades 1-2
Begin by explaining that a company made a game for children which they need to test to see if it is a fair game and if people will purchase it. Students will play the game and then evaluate it for the company.

Tic Tac Domino Grades K-2
In this game, children will match a domino card to the picture that shows the same amount, thereby reinforcing recognition of domino configurations and quantities. As a match is made the child will say the number shown on both the domino card and picture card.

Tic Tac Math Grades 1-6
This lesson plan is a game that helps to reinforce any math lesson and encourage positive reinforcement among peers. This game is based off the game of Tic Tac Toe, but implements math into it. In order for students to put their X or O on the grid, students must first correctly answer a math problem.
