1. Indian Soup: Plan a crockpot of Indian Soup to serve to the class. Research what vegetables or meat the Indians grew, hunted or prepared. List them on a sheet of paper. Decide how your group will split the ingredients and who will bring the crockpot or anything else your group needs to serve the class. Each person who brings an ingredient should give a report on the food they bring telling about which tribe grew it and in what area of the United States or Canada the tribes were located. Discuss this with your parents as well as the teacher!! Points per student..............................................60

2. Jerky : Many of the tribes dried their meat using a different method than we do today. Through reading find out did they call their dried meat? Did they dry anything else? What did they mix with their dried foods? Give a report on your findings. Points on report....up to..........................................20

3. JERKY : If you are doing the report, you could add points by bringing each person a small taste of Jerky. Points for serving...................................................20

4. Clay Modeling : If you like to work with clay, either purchased or made from salt, water and flour, see if any of these interest you. Make and paint a model of:

5. Report on above in #4 : by doing a report on your clay modeling above you could add an extra 5 points. Tell which tribe, which state/s and how it was used by the tribe ...................................5

6. Create a village: Make a 3 dimensional visual showing the lifestyle of a particular Native American Culture or tribe. The visual must include at least 2 topics from the list: shelter, clothing, crafts, livelihood, food, religious beliefs etc. Points per village with explanations on file cards................80

7. Recreation: The tribes also had recreational games for fun. What can you find out about a game that a tribe used for recreation? Report on one game............................................................15
