Disable AdBlocker to get much more access to this site!

How do I shut my adblocker off?

Most adblockers are browser extensions that have options that can be accessed by clicking their icon, next to the browser address bar above. On some you can choose to "whitelist" us (so you don't block us in the future), or just disable for this visit of our site. One of the most popular ad blockers is Adblock Plus. It shows as a small red octagon, next to the addressbar in your browser. Others may have a different icon, but often you can identify the adblocker because the icon, in your browsers toolbar, often has a tiny number on it displaying that it is blocking a certain amount of ads or resources from the website you are currently on. Others may look like a red hand or a red shield.

Once you have identified your adblocker and whitelisted 'theteacherscorner.net' or turned it off in it's options menu, the refresh your browser (or press the F5 key). If you are whitelisting, you probably should NOT place the 'www' or 'worksheets', etc. in front of 'theteacherscorner.net', this would usually mean that it will cover the whole website. If your whitelist requires you to enter every domain, here are all of ours: 'theteacherscorner.net','www.theteacherscorner.net','worksheets.theteacherscorner.net','pdf.theteacherscorner.net','lesson-plans.theteacherscorner.net','seasonal.theteacherscorner.net','thematicunits.theteacherscorner.net', and 'bulletinboards.theteacherscorner.net'

I shut it of, but you are still showing me the message!

We know this happens, and happens often. Even though you shut off your ad blocker, you are getting the message. If you don't see ads, then *something* on your side is blocking them. You still have a couple of options:

  1. Check out this link and try their directions
  2. Use a different browser (Microsoft Edge, FIrefox, Safari) use one that has not had any ad blockers installed.
If you see our ad blocking message but are still are seeing ads, please screenshot of the it (i.e. 'blocking' message with ads showing behind it - or one of our pink 'ad blocking' message boxes with ads showing next to it) for us and let us know which ad blocker you have installed: theteacherscorner.net@gmail.com

Are you sure? How do I know if I'm blocking ads??

Our users often don't know that they are blocking our ads, but now that you are reading this, you are being made aware of that fact. It's up to you what you do about it, but we like to give you choices that most websites don't. But before we talk about anything - let us figure out the basics:

If you are not blocking ads, then this is what our site looks like. Notice the pink squares - those are the advertisements we are talking about. If you don't see these, then they are being blocked.

If your screen has those 'Ads' showing and you are also getting messages that you are blocking ads, please email us. Send a screenshot and let us know what browser you are using, and if you are on Mac or Windows, and we will look into it: theteacherscorner.net@gmail.com

So about those 'choices' I spoke about above. Most websites ask you to turn off your ad blocker to view their website or pay for a plan that removes the ads. We are different in that we like to give our ad-blocking users access to our content, even if they are blocking ads. So you can check out our content, and decide if you want the 'extras' that you get if you turn off your ad blocker. So we effectively have 3 levels of content:

  1. No Ads (blocking):That's OK! We show you some of our content even if you are blocking ads! While you are browsing, we try to tell you what features would be enabled if you allow our ads (in pink or grey boxes). Try a few things out (granted you may need to close a few 'nag' windows), and THEN decide if you want the extras that allowing our ads to show will provide.
  2. Ad supported: Turn off the Adblocker and we give you a lot more options on the content you saw without the ads. We call this our "free" option, but it is effectively an 'ad-supported' level. You get almost everything our website offers. There are still a few small extras that our paying subscribers get, but we try to make this completely clear UP FRONT. Most of our users get everything they need at this level. We don't try to 'lure' you in by allowing you to spend a lot of time filling out a form to make a custom worksheet, then telling you that you need to pay to get it. We tell you up front everything you get at the ad-supported (as we call "free") and what our premium subscribers would get in addition.
  3. Paid Subscription (opens in new tab): this is effectively the same as our 'ad-supported' site (with a few more extras), but without any ads. People who can't stand ads, or can't allow ads to show (i.e. restrictive school or work network) but want the content (and a bit more) can pay a small fee to get to it.

We know advertising is unpopular, but ultimately, advertising pays for nearly all of the costs associated with running this website, some of costs include: Programmer/Web Designer/Developer (healthcare, salary, etc), IP Attorney fees, Hosting/Server fees, Bandwidth, other external costs: fees to use AI and other services. We are a small company, and aside from our 'paying' subscribers, the advertising pays for everything that we give away to the teachers and parents who often aren't in a position to be able to pay for these services. We've been on the internet since 1996, giving away 95% of our content for all of those years, and while everyone may think websites generate a ton of money off advertising, this one just breaks even every year. That is the cost of giving all of your content away for just what the advertising covers. While a 'real estate' website may make a ton more money off of advertising, an education website has users that typically aren't overflowing with expendable cash, so the advertising pays dramatically less than mostly every other topic of content.

Anyhow, that is the story. We appreciate you checking us out regardless of what you choose to do.
