Famous PeopleBiography Project I give the form below to students when I assign the project. Usually I leave some spots for important words blank so the students have to fill them in as we go along - hopefully they are paying more attention that way! The form has to be discussed at home and signed by parents. I much prefer research for this type of project to be done "in class" so that I can see the process and be sure that they have not just "copied" from a book. We discuss plagiarism! This could be used for the study of any famous people, any nationality! Grade 5 Canadian Prime Minister Project Student: _____________________________ Prime Minister: _____________________________ The Process: 2) I will organize these strips into categories on a large Info Sheet. These will be checked and I will be able to see easily if I need more information, and under which category. 3) When I have enough information, I will begin writing a draft copy, putting my findings into good sentences and paragraphs. 4) After the draft has been edited by myself and my teacher, I will use the computer as a wordprocessor to make the good copy. I will produce a booklet (report) on my Prime Minister. I may add drawings, maps, photographs, etc. to add interest to my project. Neatness is considered very important. 5) Oral Presentation: I will dress up as "my" Prime Minister and give a short talk to the Grade 5 class during our Canadian History Day on the afternoon of _____ , February ____. I will be telling my classmates about "my"life, and I may use notes (taken from my project) to help me with my speech. I should practice this speech at home beforehand!
