Cinco de Mayo Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "Fifth of May") is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the unlikely victory of the Mexican Army over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Cinco De Mayo takes place on the 5th of May.
