Personal Dictionary

As soon as I introduce a word for my wall, I have each child pull out their personal dictionary and add it to their dictionary. By the end of the year, students are not only learning dictionary skills, but utilizing word wall words. It teaches them to use resources available to them. They may either look on the wall, or, use their word wall dictionary. Different strokes for different folks (we all learn differently).
