Hi all

I am a PhD candidate and I am studying how people respond to wrongdoing (e.g., bullying, harassment, fraud, sabotage, theft, abuse of power) in organizational settings. I am currently running a survey and would like to invite people who have come across wrongdoing to participate. While I am sampling from many different industries, teachers comprise a large part of my sample to date, and I would really like to collect some more data from them.

The survey is completely anonymous and is open to any employee who has come across any form of wrongdoing in an organizational setting (e.g., targets, observers, and those who have been informed about wrongdoing from others) and takes around 20 minutes to complete. It does not matter how you responded to the wrongdoing; currently, I have received responses from people who remained silent about the wrongdoing, confronted the perpetrator, reported to management, exited the organization, etc.

In contrast to much of the previous field research which has focused on the consequences of the wrongdoing, my research examines the decision-making process and organizational and contextual factors that affect how people respond. This is a significant gap in the literature, and the findings of the study will not only provide insights into the experiences of those who come across or experience wrongdoing, but will also provide organizations with information about how to deal with wrongdoing and address complaints appropriately.

More information about the study and a link to the survey are available here:

You are welcome to PM me or respond here if you have any questions, and if you know of anyone who may be interested in completing the survey, please feel free to forward the link to them. Thanks!

Kind regards
Marissa

Insofar as I am currently unemployed as a direct result of organizational wrong doing, I completed your survey with great interest. I also sent you an e-mail to better explain my situation regarding the violation of my rights under my state's whistle blower's law as well as the damage to my professional reputation due to on-going problems with administrative defamation.
