Hi! I am a student teacher currently earning my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I spend my days with 16 wonderful 3rd graders at an independent day school just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

What I'm looking to do is some sort of video pen pal exchange with a classroom outside of the United States. I don't have any solid details--I just want to see if anyone is interested, and if so, maybe we could toss a few ideas around. I think it would be great for my kids to see what sort of school kids their age in another part of the world go to. It could also be a good introduction to real basic video shooting and editing skills, as well as open their eyes to the great communication potential of the internet.

If this sounds like fun, give me a holler!

Thanks and happy teaching,
Andrew

I'm not outside the U.S. of A., so I can't help you with that bit. I did, however, want to tell you I think the idea of video pals sounds great. I know my students love to make thier own videos. Because young children are very concrete, I think the idea of a video exhange is an awesome one. You can even do it through e-mail if you use a digital camera.
