View Full Version : brain functioning
I'm surious to know if there are studies out there taht actually map brain activity during lessons. I'd REALLY love to have someone in to record my teaching and map my kids' synapses to see where actual learning is having -- I want to know EXACTLY what I'm saying and doing that is effective.
So has it ever been done before?

I'm not sure if there are studies out and about that map brain activity during lessons. A good book on how the brain learns, etc., is "Teaching with the Brain in Mind." Another good one is "Brain Friendly Strategies for the Inclusion Classroom", although I preferred the info in the first book. It gave a really good picture of how the brain processes the information and what teachers can do to help the info stick.

There is a really awesome website for zero to five that shows what the brain is doing when the child is learning or moving or whatever. I have the link in an e-mail from NAEYC. I will go look for it in my hugely messy inbox and get back to you with it.
