Friday, Oct. 31st? Anyone? Pls tell me I'm not the only one. Follow up: are there other times during the year when this will happen again (day before Christmas break, etc.)? Thanks!

Oh, yes! Halloween is always a crazy day. The days before holiday breaks tend to have different kinds of behavior as well.

Definetly.

Any hoilday breaks, half days, open houses, parent/grandparent VIP days, first sunny/snowy/cold/hot days, and more can all lead to odd behaviour. The first snow is always a crazy day.

I think the two most horrible days of the year are Halloween and the last day before Christmas. These are even worse than the last day of school!

I also am very thankful when April Fool's Day falls on a weekend.:)

The fire alarm was pulled twice at my school - during a fundraiser party. What a mess!

I find that the day AFTER a holiday is worse. Anticipation is one thing -- you can plan to play into that. but when they're hyped on candy, sleep-deprived, or have a million new toys to show off, well, forget trying to get anything done.

That is a really good point. I like the anticipation a lot of the time. I go along with it, and we have a good time. However, the cranky crabbies of the day after can be challenging! None of them have slept or eaten or been on routine and it can be a mess.

Define weird! Our kids were a mess all week, and then the day of their Halloween dance, they mellowed all morning. It was actually the best teaching day of the week! The first snow came this week for us, and yep it made them crazy(er). The full moon is always a real treat too.
