I'm a language arts teacher, and not exactly savvy when it comes to software. To compound my technological follies, my school district has some tailor made software they use for inputting grades...and it just confuses me.

I was able maintain my own gradebook and show the administrators patterns of scores with graphs and chats via Microsoft Excel. I found this really need online training program that took me about 4 hours over two weeks. If you're interested, send an email to alexva_training@adlnet.gov asking for Excel training and they set you right up.

It was great and sure helped me keep my grades in order!

Isn't Excel amazing? My boyfriend is an engineer who basically lives his life through the program, so as soon as I started teaching my attnedance book, gradebook, EVERYTHING was on Excel and interconnected and had formulas so I didn't have to calculate things by myself and risk error. It makes your life SO much easier and you can put anything in or take anything out; it's totally customizeable! If you're not familiar with it...TRY IT! Let me know if you need help, I'm the expert now, haha!
