We recently had our Ed-tech field trip, where we found ourselves checking up on old computers and viewing a boring presentation about a communication facility. Aside from the visit to a broadcasting station (which was the highlight of the trip), i could pretty much size it up as a bland experience? Do you have any field trip suggestion for an Ed-tech class?
I would say if possible try to go to a television station, if that's not possible try a radio station. Then again I'm not sure where you are, so I don't know what you may have available.
Even less likely it being possible, see if you can go to a technology research place, or possibly a video game creation company (or school).
Hopefully I have given you some ideas. Good luck!

I'd go with a broadcast station. A lot of technology is being applied there.
You could also investigate going somewhere where games or software is designed and tested. This might be wonderful for cetain froups of studnets who are really into the design section of technology.
A really cool trip might be going to see robots as work. For example, a robot done surgery at a hospital. My guess is that you will need contections to see the really neat jobs for robots though.

It may be easier and less costly to go to a local cable TV station or radio station. Going to a newspaper publishing facility might be another angle, too! If there is a local airport and you can get a group to go into the tower where they can view the radar operation of landing and taking off of planes, or if they have weather instruments in the facility, so much the better. Good luck!

WAAA, THANKS (sorry for being a bit informal)!!! I already have ideas for our next trip! The airport idea is a real good one (though i have to get the paper works done!), and I think it would be a real treat for the class. The robotics idea is pretty good, but i think our resources here are quite limited to foreign based science schools, and really it's really all small stuff (I'm being rude again). It would be great if I had i had the connections though! It'll really cost us if we have to move out of the country! hahaha, thanks again for the replies!
