HI,
this is an unsual request, but here it goes: I am working on my degree in Elementary education, and this week's assignment for one of my classes is to interview an Elementary school teacher. Unfortunately, it is rather little notice for me to be able to plan for baby sitting( I have two little ones and my husband is deployed) and make an appointment for an interview with anyone local. i was wondering if anyone here would be willing to fillout my interview template and maybe chat via Yahoo messenger 9 or any other messenger, I'm willing to download one). The interview is very basic, asking about work satisfaction, personal challenges, success, and your needs as a teacher. If anyone would be willing to help me out, by either sharing something about those areas of your profession or joining me for a messenger chat about them, I would be hugely appreciative.
Thanks,
Heather

I'll help you out. Send me the questionnaire via e-mail.

if you need more than one person, feel free to send it to me in my box on the forum. I'm Canadian, however, so it might not apply to me.

I can teach zero to eight. I'm not sure if that'll help you or not. I just worked with fives and sixes... If you need a back-up type person, you can PM me.

I had a couple of people say that they were willing to do this, but i want to cover my bases and make sure that i have something to turn in to my professor this week. If anyone would be willing to answer the questions ( included below) I would REALLY appreciate it.

Interview Questions

How do you feel about:
1. Work satisfaction ?
• How has teaching differed from what you expected while you were preparing to become a teacher?
2. Personal challenges ?
• One of the things that seems overwhelming to me is the idea of trying to balance the needs of all of my future students, at the same time. I want to make sure that I am giving them all the individual attention they need, in all areas of development. Is that something that has been difficult for you, and is it something that has gotten easier the longer you teach?
3. Successes ?
4. Needs as a teacher ?
• What things do you feel like you need from the school, the community, the government, and from parents in order to succeed as a teacher? Which if those groups seems to be the most supportive, and what kinds of things could they do differently to help you succeed; subsequently, helping our children to succeed.
