Basically, each classroom will exchange a postcard with every other classroom that joins our exchange. We’re getting close to 35 states right now. I’m keeping the exchange open to two classrooms from each state. All grade levels are welcome. We currently have a good mix of Kdg-6th grade. It is hard to get all 50 states involved…but we’re hoping for as many as we can get.
The postcards will have a picture of your state or city on the front, or maybe something that your state/city is known for. The back of the postcard will have state facts and other interesting facts that you would like to add. There will be a final list and specific instructions emailed sometime in August. The postcards will be mailed in October. I would recommend sending them all out at once. That way, you won’t forget anybody. I want to give ample time for the classrooms that are using this as a writing exercise/center.
If you google “free vista postcards” you should find a link for 100 free postcards. All you pay is shipping. You can search their database to find a picture for the front of the card or you can upload a scene for $3.50. I uploaded an image from Google. I ended paying only $10 for the cards and they turned out great.
If you would like to join, I need your name, grade teaching, school name, school address, and an email. The email is strictly for the final list that will go out in August. If you have any other questions, please get back to me.
Thanks!
