Hi, (sorry if this is long)
I am about to start a new job as a toddler teacher. I am a new teacher and my first year teaching did not go well. In short, I worked with a lady that thought I was too young too be teaching and told my boss I was incompetent. (It was a co-teacher situation) I was put on probation as a teachers aide and was not going to be given my teacher position back. The HR department felt I should be given the position back and even offered me lead teacher at their partner site but my boss did not. Neway, I left that company and now I am about to start a position as a lead toddler teacher. This company absolutely loves me and I have actually worked with the director before.
My fear is that my confidence has been so ruined by this previous experience that I won't be able to stop second guessing what I do. With the other teacher, I would do something and she would roll her eyes or step in and take over. I just fear that I won't get my confidence back. Does neone have any advice, or been in a sit. like this? Sorry again that this is so chatty:)

 Miss Bittny- You sound like a very confident teacher. It sounds like in the last situation the other teacher was threatened by your presence. In a strange way, that is a compliment. Now, don't look back. You are in a safe environment. The people in charge have confidence in you. You still have that confidence, too. Get in there with the kids and get going. Once the kids respond in a positive and accepting way of your leadership, the past will fade away, quickly. Good luck!

I think once you get in there, and get to spend time with the kids your confidence will come flooding back! Younger kids seem to really have a knack for making you feel awesome. :P
