Hello all! My name is Michelle and I am from Alabama. I have been scouting out this site for a little while. I decided to jump on board tonight to attach some cyber support to my belt.
I will student teach Next year, but Love to plan and map out every detail of my life (OCD). I was wondering where everyone got their ideas about their resumes and C. Letters.
Did you use a "typical" resume template and a "typical" C. letter template? Did you use an online resource?
I truly believe that resumes and C. letters are artforms and have a lasting impression on the employer. So...I want to get it right!
google "wally Moffat". His stuff is geared to Ontario, Canada, but I'm sure you'll find some gems. He did a workshop at my B.Ed. program, and from my experience, everything he siad was dead-on.

I got some examples of resumes and cover letters from teachers at my student teaching placement school.

I have been a cooperating teacher for many student teachers. I advise them to create a portfolio of their experiences teaching different content at different grade levels. I take pictures of the student teacher teaching or interacting with kids. Also, some of them have made a digital slide show of these interactions. So, if you ever get the question have to taught this or done that you can present the scrapbook or pull out the CD and have the administrator see first hand. Whatever will make you different and stand out from the other candidates helps you get ahead. Good luck!
