Hey everyone,

I am looking for a classroom to exchange pen pals. I have 18 students. My team teacher would also like to do pen pals. So really I am in need of 2 classrooms wanting to exchange letters.
The number does not have to be 18 (the other teacher has 19.) We will work with higher numbers in the classroom. Please let me know if you would like to be our pen pals. :)

I'm up for a grade 1 and 2 english job for the fall. I interview today and will know by the end of the week. If I get it, I'd like to be penpals!. I expect I'll have about 40 kids on my roster, and I expect the grade 1's to be very high, as it's French Immersion (the grade 2's may just be in the stratusphere, if they're anything like the 2's from this past year).

We're in Ontario, Canada, so there's an added bonus of learning about another country (and tracking the letters through all the states they go through if you use ground mail for American Geography, if that's part of your curriculum)!

I am the English co ordinator and I am seriously considering starting a pen pals club in my school. We are a primary school in Rochdale, England and the children I would be looking for pen pals for would be between 7 and 11 years old. This would be 5 classes of between 30 and 40 children in each. We would also do video conferencing, live journals and key pals....plus I am enjoying creating using muvvie...and 2 simple.....so I would be looking to integrate these.....mmm I know there is an interest in my school what about out there in the wide world?

So I'm thinking this would be a good sept/october writing project. I'm going to teach each class how to address envelopes and all, but will mail in bundles. I've done penpals before, and we started with one chart-paper letter that was a modelled/shared writing activity. would that work to start? I'm assuming we send everything from school to school and only use kids' first names, no pics? does that cover all the possible parental concerns?

I let the children send pics once the link with the penpal is established.
...after they have wrote several letters both sides are curious what the person they are writing to looks like. Once you know the school and teacher etc I think its ok. I never send second names or let the children do the writing from home it remains school based and I read everything that comes in and goes out.....no individual letter envelopes...

Hi I work with 36 kids, all between grade one and grade six, I would be interested in trying to set up pen pals with anyone outside north america. We are located in Alberta, CANADA, is anyone interested?
