I find that my students with challenging behaviors respond very well to sensory based activites. Kinesthetic lessons also work quite well.

If you are working on writng, use shaving or whipped cream to write the letters in. If you are learning about wind and waves, bring in fans and water. If you need to teach another type of concept, write a song using a common tune like the Hoky Poky or Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.

Do you have a topic in mind already? If not, why not do something with social skills? The Spider Web game works well for relating and conversing with peers.

What type of topic are you looking for? What is the age of the students? I have a collection of short lessons that I use when our schedule is messed up - early dismissal, etc.
