I have recently been hired as a 6th grade math teacher in the middle school where I did my student teaching and substituted last year. I know most of the staff and currently get along with everyone very well. The 6th grade team has a handbook that they pass out to the students at the beginning of the year. I was reading through it and noticed many grammatical errors in the handbook. How do I bring this up to my team without offending anyone or overstepping my bounds as the new teacher on the team? They have used this handbook for several years and I don't want to make anyone feel silly!

Offer to type it updates, and just fix those errors?

Or if you think it would go over nicely, you could gently tease them about it and then fix it yourself?

Thank you both for your suggestions, I'll try them out and see what happens!
