If you're looking for a teaching job and are willing to relocate, New Orleans has a desperate need for teachers. The district anticipates an increased enrollment of 12,000 students for the coming year. The Recovery District operated schools are offering $17,300 worth of incentives to out of state teachers who commit to working in New Orleans for two years.
The plan offers $5,000 per year for two years along with a $400 monthly housing subsidy for the first year and a onetime payment of $2,500 to cover relocation expenses.
