Hello,
I am new to this site and need some help. I currently teach part time at a school--but also am the parent of two students that attend there. Our enrollment is down so our district decided to cut kindergarten completely for next school year! AHH! As a parent, along with many others, we are approaching our school board with options. Our district offers free all day every other day as an option or Kindergarten Plus, which is tuition for the off days--so it runs every day. I was wondering if anyone taught in a unique setting where you had mixed attendees. What I mean is, do you have students that attend every day along with every other? The current teacher is excellent and could handle the schedule.
Any other ideas on kindergarten schedules would be great! My goal is to get kindergarten back!!

FYI: it is an optional school in our district, a public Montessori..so that is why kindergarten could get cut.

I work at a private school with part/full time classes. The full time classes are available to parents from once a week to 5 days a week so we have some children that come every day and some that come once a week. The only setback is that the children that do not come every day miss out on projects, etc. which they see and hear that the other kids have done. Other than that, it works great!
