I am doing a presentation on the pros and cons of teaching early education. I was wondering if anyone who has experience with teaching early education could please reply with what they feel are the pros and cons of early education. I really appreciate it! :)

Some ideas:

Pros

Young children absorb information like sponges. Their progress is readily apparent.
Excited about learning.
Eager to please.

Cons

They need constant attention.
Cannot work very independently.
Cannot read directions.
Limited in the kinds of class discussions we can have.

I agree with what irish said, but to add to the list:

They do not know a thing about the rules when they first enter school. They don't know what a straight line is they don't know to raise their hand, they just don't know.


BUT... You can kind of laugh about these minor mistakes at this age and they catch on fast.

PROS:
They like you at this age.
