In Kentucky, 7th grade is assessed in writing, reading, math, science, and practical living. They keep a writing portfolio, practical living is all MC. Reading, math, and science is a combination of MC and open-response.
8th grade is assessed in writing, reading, math, social studies, and arts & humanities. Writing is a 90-minute on-demand follwed by grammar MC, while the rest is a combination of MC and open response.
There are rumors of returning to a national norm-referenced test completely made up of MC...so I am wondering how other states do it.
