I know you got 'em...so share.

I am doing a bulletin board for my electricity unit. Each student used construction paper to make a representation of their house. I then made one for a power plant, and 2 transformers. I put a transformer of each side of the power plant. First I strung white christmas lights on the board and then put their houses over each light to represent electricity in their homes. The wires connecting the lights represented power lines. We discuss, in detail, the process of generating electricity and how electricity gets to our homes. This bulletin board was a visual representation and a fun craft project. They loved it.

What interesting bulletin boards have you done lately?

The board I made was one for a multicultural unit. There are books that are featured on the board that have aspects from other cultures and the students can read a short bio about the book that is displayed with the book. Once they choose a book they can check it out from the class library. After they read it, their book review will be attached to the book cover that is displayed on the board.

This isn't real flashy! But I am in MS, and thougth of doing the quote from HORTON HEARS A WHO...so let that be a lesson to all: a person's a person no matter how small. Thought it was a clever way to address the bullying issue with out addressing it! If that makes sense!? Our elementary is also in this building, so they too will understand it in their own way, and relate!
