Does anyone use the Carolina science program? Is it practical? Effective? Does it go into enough detail to really challenge students?

I am embarrassed to say that this Carolina girl has never even heard of this program. How awful is that? Do you have a link? I would really like to check it out.

I hadn't heard of them either until I saw their booth at a textbook showcase. Here is the link:

Carolina is just the company selling the products. GEMS is produced by the Lawrence Hall Of Science, STC is produced by the National SCience Resource Center.
Both are excellent.
GEMS has a narrower focus - it covers one topic.
STC are larger units covering several topics. STC can by kinda pricey, but the kits have all the supplies & materials.
With GEMS you can just buy the teachers guide & use whatever you have available.
