I recently acquired my social studies composite for high school and started looking for work. Obviously, winter is not the best time to be trying to find a job so I'm really looking under rocks and other odd places for one! My goal is to work in a public school district, but I could really use the money of a full-time position.
My question deals with charter schools and the impact of working for them. I have heard from people I would consider reliable that once you accept a job at a charter school that it is difficult to find a job at a public school because of negative perceptions about charter school employees (so, you work there because you're not good enough!). Is this so? Should I avoid them and simply focus on public schools and substituting?
It sounds silly to me that such perceptions exist, but reality is made out of perceptions and I would hate to be locked in to a charter school because of them.
Thanks!
