I work with autistic students in a 1:1 program. I need ideas/suggestions on what to do when one teaching assistant is absent. It is difficult to manage a class, run 1:1 programs and explain how to run a students program in 5 min.

I used to have subs run programs, but it turned out to be more of a headache because the data was incorrect and the programs were not run correctly...

Any suggestions of what to do when one teaching assistant is absent and a sub comes in who is not familiar with the students and program....

Many times I switch my teachers assistants. Often, you have one teacher assistant who has a job that is easier to put a sub into. I have also asked the sub to make copies, put folders together...do more administrative tasks. Then I work with the students in question.

It does make a very crazy day, but you survive.
