I am organizing an upcoming speaker event for teachers and am torn between 3 different presenters

Based on their topics, who do you think is the best choice?

1. Motivating students: How to make Monday's rock!
2. Keeping control in the classrrom: Dealing with disruptive students
3. Mastering Differentiated Instruction from learning disabilities to gifted students

Thanks!

Jen

Depends, who are your speakers?
I would be more interested in 1 or 2 myself based on what you have given :)

Probably 1 I feel.

One and two both sound good, if the speakers are equally good. Why don't you ask the teachers themselves which topic they feel would be most useful?

It's hard to say without knowing your faculty. Instead of booking the most interesting speaker, I think you should look at your faculty needs. What do they really need the most?

I would be MOST fascinated with #3, if that person would bring to light some practical ways to achieve all this.

#1--Just make sure that it isn't scheduled during a week when you have the Monday off of school. ;)

Differentiation is on the front-burner in education today. For this reason, I would go with #3. How is it done? How do you grade the work? What are the techniques?

I am assuming that you polled the staff to determine their needs. If so, then this is an area in which one of the current trends can be addressed.

Good luck.

I would go with Differentiated Instruction. It's the major focus of most districts around here.
