One of my several jobs is to write science curriculum. I have been reading "Ready, Set, Science;" a wonderful text for anyone who is interested in increase the quality of the inquiry-based science classroom. In Chapter 5 they introduce the concept of talk moves, which is something new to me. These are ideas such as "revoicing," or rephrasing the student's question or thought; "asking students to restate someone else's reasoning," and "asking students to apply their own reasoning to someone else's reasoning." I'd like to integrate these strategies into my lesson plans, but I'm not sure how, since discussion is a very fluid thing.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

These are comprehension strategies. Perhaps this site : http://mtsd.k12.wi.us:16080/MTSD/District/ela-curriculum-03/oral_language/active_listening_strategy.html will help.
