Drop 3 businessmen and 3 businesswomen into an elementary school classroom for 6 weeks. Each contestant will be provided with a class of 28 students and a copy of the school district's curriculum. Each class will have 5 LD (learning disabled) children, 3 with ADD (attention deficit disorder), 1 GT (gifted & talented), and 2 ESL (english as a second language), plus 3 will have severe behavorial problems.

EAch contestent must complete lesson plans at least three days in advance with curriculum objectives, and modify, organize and creatw materials to match. They will be required to teach students, handle misconduct, implement technology, document attendance, write referrals , grade homework, but up bulletin boards, fill out report cards, and hold parent teacher conferences. They will also be required to supervise recess and the hallways, complete fire and disaster drills, attend workshops, faculty meetings, and tutor students who are behind.

If they are sick or having a bad day they must not let it show. They must maintain discipline and provide an educationally stimulating environment at all times. Lunch is limited to 30 minutes a day. They can golf on the weekends, but on their new salary, they won't be able to afford it.

The The winner of the contest will be allowed to return to his or her job.

Do you think we could get Donald Trump or Martha Stewert to host?

But I don't know if it'd find an "audience," other than teachers.

I don't know about that, people watch Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.

I think that people would watch it. But have fun trying to find the business men and women willing to give it a try.

If Martha Stewart survived Federal prison, she can survive being a teacher. :)

I don't know, I think prison might be easier than teaching. Most of the time kids are great, but the parents....that's a whole other story.

:) But you have to add that they will be observed while doing the above and must have the students engaged when this unexpected observation takes place.

I think it would make a great reality show. Kind of a "Classroom Survivor". Perhaps the teaching profession would regain a little respect from the general population.

I don't believe a show like this would ever be put into syndication.

For one thing, where would we get the students? Would we really be willing to risk the academic experience of these children by subjecting them to non-certified teachers? The cynical part of me says that there are some people who would do anything for entertainment. What would happen if these teachers were grossly incompetent? How would these kids be brought up to par?
