someone25 - I am confused. In another thread you said you wanted to be a teacher but had a misdemeanor involving alcohol. You are now requesting information on school sponsored visas.
Could you please clarify who you are and where you're actually located. Where did this misdemeanor occur?

Oh I am in Mississippi and it happened in Mississippi. but i am international
Those were two different questions that I had. I did not claim I was US resident. Please don't misunderstand that because that would get me in trouble.
expungement - so i can take care of the misdemeanor
visa-sponsor - that is the visa problem
there are totally different things... right? so should be in two topics...
please let me know if you know any visa-sponsor high school. thanks
please forgive me if i said/wrote something wrong.

Thank you for clearing that up. I understand that you're a foreign national in Mississippi with a misdemeanor.
You are presumably here on a non-immigrant student visa.
First - you should understand that if you get a job in this country, you will have to leave this country to close out your old visa before returning under your new visa. I have known foreign nationals in your area of the country who have either gone to Mexico or the Caribbean.
Secondly - you should be aware that thousands of foreign nationals work in American schools. Your best bet for getting visa sponsorship is to contact a school district that has previously hired foreign nationals.
Contact public school districts in:
* Palm Beach County School District

* New York City Department of Education
http://schools.nyc.gov/default.aspx
* Chicago Public Schools
http://www.cps.k12.il.us/
* Houston Independent School District

* Los Angeles Unified School District

* Fulton County Schools, Georgia

* Clark County School District, Las Vegas, Nevada

Here is an article about foreign nationals who work in the United States. You are certainly not alone.

There are also several for profit recruiting companies that you can contact. These companies will charge you a percentage of your salary in exchange for setting up your visa and finding you a job.
Contact:
Recruiting New Teachers Inc.
http://www.recruitingteachers.com/
Visiting International Faculty
http://www.vifprogram.com/
USA Employment Note: This company is based in India.
http://www.usaemployment.org/
If you contact a recruiting company, be sure to tell them about your brush with the law. They may have an attorney on staff who will be able to advise you as to what you can do.
The important thing is to be honest with the recruiting company because if you're not honest and it's later discovered that you lied, you can be fired and deported.
The advantage of working with a recruiting company is that they will take care of your visa application paperwork and they'll find you a job. The disadvantage is that this will cost you money. USA Employment charges about $300 a month for something like three years in exchange for their services.
As an alternative to using a company, contact one of the large school districts listed in this post. All of the districts listed in this post have experience with visa applications ... so if you contact one of these districts directly, you'll be able to save yourself some money.
If you do this, again - be honest with the district. If this problem you had 2 1/2 years ago is the only problem you've had, you will probably won't have any difficulty getting a job. These districts are extremely short of personnel - so as long as you're honest, I really don't think you'll have a problem.
Best wishes,
David

Another important resource is the United States Department of Education:
http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ous/international/usnei/us/edlite-teachus-geninfo.html
This site will give you information about getting visas. It will also give you some basic information about working in the U.S.
Also - here is yet another recruiting company:
Teach in America
http://www.auap.com/teach.html
Be aware that this company will ask for a one time fee of $3000. This sounds steep but if USA Employment charges $300 per month for three years, that will cost you $10,800 in commission fees.

Mr. David,
Thanks for your detail.
I was just not knowing the law enough to get in trouble.
do i need to tell them even after it is expunged??? would i still be not honest?
by the way, I will be in OPT so I don't have to leave. I would just keep working and get the visa during OPT. that is what people in school told how OPT and visa works. hopefully that would work out. if you personal know any school hires foreigner. please send me a private message.
I have questions about how to transfer a Mississippi license to Texas... it is really confusing.
I know this : i still need to take those two tests. and probably need to get in a education master program...

I answered this in your other thread but will say it again. If your record is expunged and you don't tell a potential employer and they check a commercial database of criminal records, then you could lose your job or have an offer of employment withdrawn.
For the last time - this is just my opinion. I am not an attorney.
PLEASE CONSULT AN ATTORNEY.

just find out this.
after a record is expunged, it means that person is clean and need not to say yes when people ask about criminal record except for couple exceptions or in some state for teachers.
also after finishing school, it is not true that you have to leave the US and then come back. someone can just stay here as long as he/she stay in a legal status.
