I am finshing up my final project for my class. I am doing a documentation board. I am doing pictures of the kids in my class with sensory. I have to determine the theories the children might pose. EX: ZPD does anyone have any easy solutions to how to determine these? Thank's ;)

The children need to be thinking about the theories? What kind of sensory activity are you using? Which theories can you use?

Information about your grade level would also be useful. You've posted this in the early childhood board. Are you sure you have the right board?

So, I'm thinking ZPD is zone of proximal development. I'm thinking you are looking for other theories such as Eriksons and Piagets. Maybe even Kohlbergs depending on age level.

There's also Karen Horney's Neo-Freudian Theory.

The notion of ZPD implies that a child's development is determined by social interaction and collaborative problem-solving. Would a rubric be of use in evaluating a student?

I work with two year olds. My teacher for my ECe class wants a documentation board with the kids doing the activity and we have to determine what theory this might represent. Like Vytosky's ZPD or Piaget and where this might fit it.

I'm afraid I don't see what the problem is. The assignment seems very straight forward as long as you have a good understanding of all applicable theories.

For ZPD, I think that you would show an adult working with a student or students and then a student doing the same or similar activity on their own.
For Piaget, maybe show a student exploring the world through their sensory for sensorimotor stage. For peroperational show the child grouping objects (red shapes together, etc).
Eriksen is a good one. You can find a student who is afraid to level their mother-basic trust vs mistrust. For Autonomy vs Shame find a child who knows the rules and follows them or a child who is sorry when they break a rule.
The problem that lies is that some theories really only apply for older students. Can you use older students for the project too?
