My classroom has children that come from different backgrounds. I want to introduce an experiences or activities about Jamiacan culture without leaving out the other children.
It should be something about Social Studies:
Definitions of social studies
-Explains one’s relationship to other people.
-Enables us to become an active contributor to society.
-Curriculum must reflect a child’s personal, social and cultural experiences.
-Helps children see themselves as unique individuals.
-Teaches concepts of time, understanding the past as it relates to the present.
-Helps children learn how they fit into their community and into the world.
-Guides people to becoming self-directed citizens.

Please write materials and things i can say to children
how i can introduce it to them.
thank you

Could you clarify the last part, "without leaving out the other children?"

A study of Jamaican culture would of necessity, exclude other cultures since you'd be learning about Jamaica. The only way to be fully inclusive would be to introduce an international unit that would touch on several cultures.

Since this is the preschool/early childhood board, I'm assuming that you're talking about young children.

Children's Songs:
Brown Girl in the Ring
Chi-Chi Bam Bam
Jump Rope Song

Jamaican Food Note: Jamaican food can be very spicy. Here's a link to a nice dessert - JAMAICAN GLAZED BANANAS
