A nurse in Massachusetts named Kathleen Wolf has asked her state representative to file a bill that would ban corporal punishment in her state. Twenty-nine states in the United States have already banned corporal punishment in schools. What makes Ms. Wolf's proposed bill different is that she has proposed banning corporal punishment at home.

Nineteen countries have already banned corporal punishment at home. These counties include: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and the Ukraine.

Parents who spank their children in Sweden are subject to arrest and imprisonment. The judicial systems in the other 18 countries will impose fines for parents found guilty of spanking their children.

What do you think of the proposed no spanking bill?
