Hi! All,

Well as usual I haven't been on the forum for some time. My only excuse is working 4 days a week for a Disability Employment Jobnet.

Not sure if you have this kind of service over there, but here in Australia we have jobnets who work very hard to help people with disabilities to find some suitable work. Is very challenging but when we see people become independant it really makes the job worthwhile.

I am also a Literacy and Numeracy tutor and my last student, an 8 year old girl has just completed the Australia wide test to see how her level of education is going and she is in the top sector. Hats off to her as she worked very hard during our sessions and I for one am very proud of her. It gives one a big buzz and a very warm fuzzie when a student achieves great things.

I am off to Adelaide (the capital of South Australia) which is 700klms from my home town next week for a 2 day seminar at our head office. Am looking forward to learning more about my job while I am there. Mind you will stay for a few extra days for some much needed recreation and retail therapy. :)
Cheers for now, Carolyne

We do have people who helped people with disabilities in the states. They are called job coaches here and many of the job coaches start with students who are in high school.

Congratulations on your student. That is awesome news!

That is great news about your student! It is always wonderful to hear about children who work hard and succeed. You must be a very skill teacher to be able to help so much!

Thaat is wonderful. Teaching is all about that feeling of pride when any of your students do well.
