Hello,

I am writing to request your help with a project for my
Survey of the Exceptional Child class at Middle Tennessee
State University. My group has been assigned “Easy IEP” as
our topic. I realize that not all states currently use Easy
IEP, so this topic may not be applicable to everyone. My
instructor thought that it would be helpful to my
classmates if our group was able to provide information
about Easy IEP based on the responses provided by classroom
teachers and other professionals that currently use the
program. If you would be willing to spend a little bit of
your time answering the following questions, I’m certain
that your responses will be informative and helpful for my
classmates as we prepare for our teaching careers. Your
answers do not have to be long or complex. We are just
interested in knowing your thoughts about the program.

Thank you in advance for your time. We know you are busy,
and we greatly appreciate
your help.

I'm sorry I can't answer your questions, but I wanted to let you know that it is not a good idea to post an e-mail address. A better idea would be to have members PM you or look in your profile for an address.

Good luck on your project.

I have not used Easy IEP, but from what I know of it, I have used a very similar program at my last school.
We had the program for 2 years, I saw the transition phrase to it. It was very difficult for the teachers. The biggest downfall was that the program was server based and it was hard to have all the teachers assessing it. Therefore the program worked rather slowly because the overload of teachers.
The best aspects of the program where the abilities to view old IEPs and that it changed color to show when students need updates or new IEPs created. This helped the admin team. I also like the ease of transferring information from other documents. The team could be taken from the invitation, or the present levels from the MDC. This was a nice benefit. It really helped to ease the transition.
To new teachers. Learn to be flexible. Learn the technology. You will be an advocate for teachers on the job for awhile. Many are technology phobic, so be prepared to be a resource.

Thank you for your replies. Our group presented the information to the class that we acquired from this board and from other teachers and the class felt that the feedback we shared with them was very educational. Thank you for your time!
