Do any of your schools use accelerated reader and is it used from the server or the teacher's computer? We are having quite the controversy in our school over this issue. Any help would be appreciated.:)

One of the schools that I student taught at used it on a server. This allowed the kids to access it from all over the school. Then the kids could use any computer to get into accelerated reader. If its only on the teachers computer, then they can only use one computer or their scores won't carry over.

my school has it on the server. I wish I knew more of the technicals, but I'm afraid that's as much of your request as I can answer.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question. But, I do have one of my own. Do you know how to get on the accelerated reader program? I am homeschooling and would like to get information and see if we can use it as a homeschool. We are already signed up with BookIt and Campbell's labels for education, but we are trying to get in with as many of the same programs that the kids would have in school as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Our district uses the AR system on the server so if a student changes schools within the district, even moving from elementary to middle school, their records go with them. It makes it pretty easy as our district is rather large and we have a lot of transfer students like this. I also like the fact that they can take a test in our computer lab in the library or on a computer in my room.
