Science Experiment to go with a Literature Book

I am currently in school working on finishing my Bachelors degree. I need to come up with a literature book and a Science experiment that would relate to the book. This can be any grade between 2nd and 5th grade. Can anyone give me some ideas? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Try making oobleck. It is mostly cornstarch and glue. There are recipes online. Then read a Dr. Suess book about barthalomew and the oobleck. Great connection.

Also anything on mysteries and fingerprinting, chromatography or observations.

Something to add to the literature resources...Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett is a great book to read when beginning a unit on weather. Any of the Magic School Bus would also be great to use in your science classes.
