;Sometimes my students really crack me up. I hate it when I am the only adult in the room, and no one else is there that "gets" the things they say. One day during our circle time, someone obvioulsy had gas. Now, as the teacher, I just try to ignore this, and keep going on with the lesson. However, one student shouted out: "It smells like private parts in here!" I didn't even know how to respond. The other students didn't laugh (first graders). I had to really control myself and not laugh and in my best teacher voice say, "that is not an appropriate thing to say, and please rememeber to raise your hand". Giggle Giggle. :D

my preschoolers are a little more blunt than that. I would have heard "someone farted" followed by lots of giggles. Oh the difference a few years can make

I'm sitting here laughing. It was funny. However, I know what you mean, I've had to stifle many laughs!

I had a 1st grade student in my internship who loved me. He would say the cutest things. He was also the cutest little boy because he looked like Chicken Little - he was the smallest in the class with spiky blonde hair and little glasses. One day I was standing with them waiting for the PE teacher to take them from me for PE. When I was about to leave, he said, "Ms. Pearce, my heart hurts soo much, I wish I could just rip it out, I love you so much!" The look on his face was priceless.

We had a can food drive at my school and one of my students brought in some jars of baby food. With the sweetest look on his face he told me but what about the babies that do not have anything to eat. If more people thought like him then thsi world would be a better place.:)
