Post Card Pen Pals Spec Ed

I teach a small class of students from a group home. They are SH/ED and estranged from their families for various reasons. Like many underprivilged students, their experiences are quite limited.

The students are all boys ranging in age from 9 to 17. They love cars, trains, Disney characters and are learning US geography.

I would love to try to establish a relationship with another class so that they do not feel so isolated.

I've never done anything like this...suggestions welcome.

Hi,
I am teaching a small class, 5 students, with Autism. We have talked and the students would like to write letters to friends far away. My students range from a 3rd grader to a 9th grader, 4 boys and 1 girl. They enjoy, Disney Characters, cars, music, and much more. Would your class be interested in being pen pals?
