Structure, structure, structure is the key. What a great thing for you to be this year. This will be fun. I like Kindergarten. It is a great age. Everything is new to them.

4-5 year olds are a lot of fun!! Make sure that your days is very structured. This helps to get the children into the "school" routine. Keep them busy and active and you will have a great year! Good luck to you!

Since you have already taught Kindergarten, you are SO ready for PK4. I have taught both and I guess the only difference is TIME. Make sure that you allow enough time for your PK4 students to complete projects. They are not as physically developed as your Kindergarten class was so they may not be able to complete a project as quick. Plan lots of activities that focus on their fine motor skills at the beginning of the year. That way they can start right off by building those skills up. :)
Be consistent and have a set daily routine...if you are doing something out of routine that day, make sure to tell the students ahead of time so they are prepared! That really helped me when I taught Pre-K...it is so much fun!!

I agree with MissLindy you should be a pro jus think of the skill you want the children entering you kindergarten class to already posess and work on them in pre-k. patience is important and structure is very important. Good luck!

4 & 5 yr. olds may need more repetition & review than the Kdg. children. This is the age i teach and i love it. Give the children time to share their ideas and have fun.
