gym and music class

How do i get a child to paritcpate in music and gym class when they say they cant or just completly refuse to do it they have to because of our school system what way can i make it so they can paritcpate but not be called a teachers pet or laughed at if they cant do the activity

Have you discussed this with the parents? Most kids love gym and music (in my experience). Not all kids can sing well, granted, but you can usually engage them with rhythm activities. I can't see the logic in thinking that participating in a class exercise makes them a teacher's pet - it is expected of everyone to participate to gain a passing grade.

Maybe you should consult your school's guidance counselor for some strategies as well, especially if it is one particular child refusing to engage - there may be some underlying issues causing the stress with these classes.

thanks well we have discussed this with the parents and there really no help because one is on bored with things going on and the other is not.
