I wouldn't call it tacky, but it is a shameless ploy to sell product, t-shirts & trinkets - Chocolate World in Hershey PA
I grew up new there and have gone there more times than I can count. I still like taking the "tour" even though I know the story and some of the props on the ride are as old as I am. They have taken to remodeling it every couple of years (they just remodeled it again!). It is part of my childhood and gives me warm memories and they started giving out a small chocolate sample at the end of the ride again :D
I'm so old that when I was little, we visited the actual Hershey's Chocolate Factory. (It was before they built Hershey Park with the "Tour" ride.) What I remember most was the giant vats of liquid chocolate and the wondrous sweet aroma in the air. Yummmmmm!

I should like to go, I'm hearing the perfume of the chocolate!
Hershey Park & Hershey Chocolate Factory Ride are in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is near Lancaster & the Amish Country. Lots of stuff to do around there...the Renaissance Faire is fun too!

Mystery Spot(s). These are woodsy places in hills where the buildings are built to appear to the eye true, right, and plumb but are actually off-angled, so that plumb lines and levels show the distortion as if gravity is suspended . . .
Awful but fun.
Breweries are terrific places to visit as well. But they're not tacky; they're really interesting.

Pedro's South of Border in South Carolina. It is just as tacky as the many, many billboards down 95 promise. You have to get your picture taken on the giant, multi-colored animals - it is a rule!
