Share your own preschool memories!

What do you remember about your own preschool experience?
I always wonder what things we do in my preschool class will stick with a child through the years....
Most children in my class have no recollection of me when I run into them a few years after they leave my class. They're just too young to recall the details!:o

Here's what I remember about my experience in what we called "nursery school":
I remember:
the smell of Play-Doh
the feel of fingerpaint
the taste of paste (that old fashioned sticky stuff)
paper bag puppets
the "merry-go-round" spinning thing on the playground & some kids throwing up on it!
and I vaguely remember my teacher "Mrs. Patterson"

Hmmm....I spent most of my childhood in daycares so I remember somethings from preschool
1 raspberry Koolaid with coffee cake everymorning (gross I know)
2 puzzels with knobs, glue and paper
3 gravely playgrounds, chasing boys around
4 mac and cheese, milk in colored cups
5 grahm crackers, songs, small chairs, painted walls
6 smiling teachers(not any names)
7 smells of bleach after naptime(bathrooms were moped during naptime)

I remember showing up on picture day in a "play" outfit because my mom thought it was field trip day...

I REALLY want to hear your preschool memories!
Do you recall holidays in preschool...Halloween, Santa's visits, special parties or projects?

I didn't attend preschool, so I can't help you out there.

I hope more people come by to answer though. I enjoyed reading everyone else's responses. It is quite interesting to see what sticks. I noticed many of the memories had to do with senses rather than activities. The sense of taste was mentioned several times actually. This makes sense though. I think many of our memories are based on senses.

Whenever I have Hawaiian Fruit Punch, I am transported back to our Brownie Girl Scout Meetings when we ate Oreos and drank Fruit Punch.

Lets see what I remember. I remember-

Growing sunflowers
Growing shamrocks (which I still have living on my window in the same little cup. Amazingly)
My best friend and I getting our special bags
All three of my bloody noses and how I got them
playing and fighting over the lite bright
Playing King of the castle on the plyaground
Learning to play some Haunnaka (sp?) game with the top and winning candy


Thats all I remember. But I'm surprised I even remembered that much.

I remember a purple fuzzy dress --- faux velvet. I remember exact words from the teacher "I like how ____ has her hand up" -- wow, something as stupidly simple as that, but I was SO proud of being praised like that. I remember the room -- a church basement -- and I remember one time there was a leak and a HUGE puddle on the carpet that was squishy. I found that intriguing.. I remember calling my teacher "Mrs. Koleslaw" and not knowing why the grown ups throught it was funny (I think her name was Kowolski). I remember NOT likeing having parents around -- mine or anyone elses. I felt like they didn't belong there. I remember not liking the bathroom. It was always cold and dark. I remember every time we went for a walk we had to hold onto a rope.

For some reason,I remember very specific things, but not the general ones like other people -- the smells and the tastes and such.
