Last summer we held a writing workshop in New Orleans, and out of it came a book. From the Second Line is a collection of personal narratives by students from the New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School. The student writers chronicle their evacuations during Hurricane Katrina, and they also describe their role in the city’s rebuilding. Please share this book with your current and future students.
