Hi. I am currently job sharing in a fifty year old school with tall ceilings, asbestos, large wooden cabinets, and running water. I am contemplating working full time in one of the two new schools being built. Is anyone familiar with the pros and cons of being the first one in a school building? Are they smaller, better equipped? Is there a lot of new resources or no stockpile at all? I have inherited a load of old books both good and bad from the retired tachers of the past. Any advice?

I have no idea as I have only changed jobs one time. I first taught in a district where I had no resources what so ever and moved to a better district.

I just moved from a new building to an older one, but with very different admins. Though I wouldn't trade my new admins for anyone, they do expect me to buy A TON OF STUFF. When I asked if there was a supply closet or a request for materials form, they asked me to tell them what I have bought first. Unfortunately, they didn't increase my pay!
