Oh, and I s'pose I should introduce myself. ;) My name is Havilah, but I go by Hava or Havs online. I am going back to school (I would link to the college I am going to, but it says that website links will delay your first posts being put up, so I'll hold off. I'm going to Idaho State University though.) I am starting on May 14th, and going through the summer. I haven't been to college since the fall of 2000, so I'm a bit rusty :p but I can't wait to start!!! I'm really glad I found this site... and I love that there's an incentive for posting... I feel like I've joined a board that is goign to be worth my while! :)

To introduce myself- My name is Kristen and I am a first year teacher this year. I recently graduated from Texas Woman's University and decided that teaching is what I really want to do. I was going to finish up at TWU, but found out that I could do it faster and a little bit cheaper through an ACP program... so here I am... end of the summer... and I just got a job offer! Yay! I'll be a middle school multimedia & year book teacher/girls coach. I'll be coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. I'm sooo excited... during my training, I focused mainly on middle school science, but ended up getting the multimedia job instead. So now I am on the hunt for ideas for this class! We get to make movies and all of that fun stuff. I would love to get ideas on bulletin boards, etc. for my room....

Well.... off to searching through all the posts.... and maybe I can get a FREE mug? Is that still going?

Just keep your head up, even on those days where you feel like you just might lose control of your class. Be strong & talk to your peers about those hard days. You can't hold it all in....it is a requirement to VENT otherwise teachers would last only three years & then we would be committed! You can do it, and take it one day at a time.

MsCoffeeLover can't give up coffee. She just cant! HOWEVER, one new years several of my girlfriends decided to give up cussing. Well, who said we had to give up something? Why don't we resolve to do more of something?

If postal rates were equivalent to what I have to pay for U.S Addresses, it would be a no-brainer - problem is that it costs much more then I actually paid for the cup, just to send it out of the U.S. This message board is already too much of a cost center.

FYI: to send a cup with a value of ~ $10.00 U.S., it would cost between $69.00 and $96.00 US just to ship to London England via UPS. It costs 2.69 US. to ship to a US. Address. So it's not like I don't like you!

You are a wonderful inspiration, Irish! I tried very hard yesterday to clear through some piles, but I only got to some cleaning. My daughter, who is getting married in October, called about 3-4 times yesterday to gather info and have me do some things. It got to be that I dreaded answering my cell phone. She was making my list of things to do longer. Talked with one SIL for about 1 1/2 hours, but that was very therapeutic. She understands me. She really understands me. Even some of my unaPEELing qualities. She also knows hubby's quirks, thanks to their Mom. I got stuff done, just not all I had planned.

My mug has had unauthorized usage, but I hesitate to say anything! I came home from the hospital only to find that my husband has his coffee in it! :eek: He has a hard time remembering where he leaves things! He needs to see if he can get one from theclergycorner.net.

I can't say anything as he is the one who brings me my pain medicine. More importantly, he is the one to drive to the store and bring me home my ice cream which goes down nicely. (Even though he ends up eating more of the ice cream than I do.) I can get my own ice cream next Wednesday after going back to the doctor.
