Literacy programs and physical activities

I am working with the local school district to start a literacy program for K-8 grade. I am trying to come up with physical activities for the kids to do once a week that will tie into literacy and math/ science. Any help will be a great help.

I was just wondering if you came up with ideas? I use yoga moves with my kids-I just turn it into things from the stories or as a motivator to write. We also do different dances and such with other content areas.

Our school district has been using SMART (Boost Up) with our K and 1st grade students. We do many different activities that work on building the literacy and the physical. It is based out of a school in Minneapolis, MN.

I would look into BrainGym...

Play kick ball, but as the pitcher (teacher) is pitching they ask a question Like what is 9 times 9? The kicker has to answer it correctly as they are kicking or they are out. It works with all subjects, you need to prepare questions ahead of time though.
