Hi All,
Does anyone have new ideas about fun staff holiday parties? We are tired of just going to someone's house and doing the ornament or white elephant exchange. Thanks and happy upcoming holidays!

We did a cute "get to know you" game.

On a slip of paper, each person writes down something about himself/herself that they think others may not know. Then you throw the papers into a container. Pass the container around and each person pulls out a paper & reads it. Then, everyone tries to guess who wrote it.

We heard everything from strange places people lived, odd jobs they've had, strange gifts received, hobbies, life changing events, etc. The game also sparked some deep & interesting conversations at our party and brought people together who usually wouldn't talk to each other!

You could have a christmas scavenger hunt, and the first one or team that arrives at the hosts house with the most items wins. The grand prize could be a dinner for 2 to a nice resteraunt or movie tickets.

How about a game of Bunko?

Hire a masseusse to give neck rubs. Since this person's time will be limited, find out how many neck ribs he/she can do in an hour. Create "neck rub" tickets and hide them under chairs before the party begins. Everyone who has a winning ticket gets a neck rub!

Take a group lesson in belly dancing, square dancing, or any type of dancing that will have your staff dancing to a beat.

Have a squirt gun fight in the gym.

Play dodge ball.

Get a couple of inflatable sumo suits and have grade level reps pair off in the gym! (Be sure to have the PE teacher put out safety mats). Offer a prize to the winning grade level.

Offer a "survivor" obstacle course. Organize teams by grade level. Have teams relay race through an obstacle course ... carrying an egg on a teaspoon while wending your way through a twisting obstacle course of student desks and chairs ... having one team mate push another down the obstacle course in a wheeled chair ... using a broom to manuever a foam ball down the length of the gym etc.

Play a party game.

Here is a link to an interesting site full of games that include: Mr. Freeze, Outrageous Sayings, and Gimmee.

Play Liar! Liar!

Players assemble in a circle and someone serves as the score-keeper. Players go around the circle, taking turns to tell one true statement and 2 lies about themselves. After each player’s turn, the other players must vote on which of the statements was truthful. The true statement is then revealed. The player wins one point for every incorrect guess. When all players have had a turn, the person with the highest score is awarded the title of best liar!
