Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards honor policymakers, educators, community leaders and administrators who demonstrate vision, innovation, action and transformation in K-12 education, in schools and in other informal learning settings such as after-school programs.

In addition to a three day all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, winners receive a $3,000 prize (policymakers may select a charity to receive the money) and the chance to be part of a community of innovators.

Cable in the Classroom (www.ciconline.org), the cable telecommunications industry's nonprofit education foundation, administers the awards program and a panel of judges from the national education community chooses the winners.

To nominate someone who is transforming K-12 education in or out of the classroom or to apply yourself, visit www.LeadersInLearningAwards.org. (http://www.LeadersInLearningAwards.org.) Deadline for applications is January 31, 2005.
